Chapter 2 (page 11)

My Dad decided one day in 1989 to begin the restoration process of his beloved Porsche. He even got out a brand new notebook and made an entry notating Day 1 of the process.

He knew that this would be a long process and a strategic one at best. He would need to do things one step at a time and make money on the side so that he wouldn’t take away from his primary responsibilities. It would take a level of patience and persistence not seen by many people in a very long time.

For clarity, I was in my Junior year of college when he made the historical notation in his notebook. So as he began this process, he still had 1½ years of college to pay for and one full wedding and a fair amount of a second. He would also see the birth of his 5 Grandchildren and anticipated retirement on the horizon, so strategy, patience and persistence would be paramount. And so the journey began.
